 Dream-Gamer
Dream-Gamer is an adapted controller for use with the Sony PlayStation (1&2).
Dream-Gamer has been designed so that children and young adults with physical disabilities can play games on the Sony PlayStation.
Although Dream-Gamer is an adapted PlayStation controller when it is disconnected from the control cap and switches, it can be used as an un-modified controller.
Motion sensors built into the Dream-Gamer control cap enable individuals to use head movements to control aspects of the game such as moving left, right, forward or backwards.
Dream-Gamer allows dual control of a video game. For example, the player wearing the Dream-Gamer cap could control direction of a racing car whilst the partner-player could be in charge of gear selection and other options through the external action switches or on-board buttons.
Dream-Gamer can also be used alongside un-modified controllers to enable two or more individuals to play together on the same PlayStation console.
Playing Crazy Frog Racer 2 and many of the retro-game classics such as Pac-Man with Dream-Gamer is a new experience for the initiated and yet-to-be-initiated PlayStation gamer.

Pistol GamerWe have also designed a hand-held unit as an alternative to the cap controller.
Pistol Gamer was designed for individuals that may not have the ability to make the small head movements required and would prefer to use hand and wrist actions to control the game.
Pistol Gamer replaces the control cap in the standard Dream-Gamer unit.
The control electronics are housed in the light weight, ergonomic housing that is suitable for either left or right handed use. |
Dream-Gamer switch boxOther game requirements such equipment selection can be made by pressing the on-board action buttons (Cross, triangle, circle and square).
Alternatively, the same game requirements can be controlled by pressing external switches that are plugged into the four action buttons through the switch box. A fifth switch, connected to the "start" button enables the gamer to start, pause or re-start the game.
Any standard switch with a 3.5 mm jack plug can be connected to the Dream-Gamer switch box. |
Suitable PS2 gamesMany of the existing PlayStation PS2 games can be played using the Dream-Gamer adapted controller. When checking, look for the following phrase "Analog Compatible Control: analog sticks only"
Normally you'll find this on the reverse side of the packaging in small size text near to the bottom.
These games will work because the motion sensors in the Control-Cap or Pistol-Gamer units connect directly to the left analog joystick on the PS2 controller.
