Penguin racer is a toy adapted for young switch users (3-8 years). Connect a switch (any 3.5mm) and encourage your child to get the three penguins racing around. Children will find the action mesmerising; watching as the penguins are hoisted up the ski-lift ladder, then sliding quickly down the winding slope before they do it all over again. Releasing the switch lets the penguins stop for a 'breather'.

This sensory activity toy features lights, sounds, movement and vivid, high contrast colours.

The two large yellow buttons are switch accessible using any 3.5mm switch. Simply connect a single switch to either of the two sockets mounted on the front of the toys and move the slider to select the play mode.

Select either "light and sounds" or "lights, sounds and movement".

In "lights and sounds" the toy plays a well known tune after each switch press combined with a multicoloured light sequence. Each tune and light show lasts for around 15 to 20 seconds and altogether there are 15 melodies to enjoy.

In "lights, sounds and movement" mode the toy can be made to spin the gears and cogs. Placing the cogs and gears on the posts makes some or all of the cogs spin when the switch is pressed. Quirky, funny noises sound and the lights flash at the same time.

My first remote control Thomas is an ideal switch adapted toy for young children. It is very simple for the child to control. All that's required are two switches connected to the adapted controller.

Pressing one switch or button will make Thomas chug along in a straight line. Pressing the second switch, or button, makes him reverse in a circle - just let go when he's pointing in the right direction and drive him away again.

This is an excellent toy for young children learning switch skills. Thomas chugs along when the switch is pressed but stops when not. When he's stopped he'll encourage the child to make him go again by "tooting and whistling". This toy will reward the child with multi-sensory feedback during play.

Thomas the Tank Engine is supplied with Thomas the engine and the adapted controller. Two switches and batteries will be required.
